World Youth Alliance Spain is excited to announce its upcoming Leadership Academy, held in the context of the ‘Critical thinking and media literacy’ project, this online training will take place from September 9 to October 21, 2025. Participants will strengthen digital competences, multimedia literacy and sense of initiative to actively promote European values of human dignity & rights with the aim of reducing the false news with the elements of indoctrination, polarization, and violent radicalization among journalism, in an era where it can amplify panic, participants will learn how to identify, analyse, and respond. This academy develops youth skills, knowledge and tools of the method of critical thinking about media literacy in the social media and internet.
The program is designed as an interactive learning experience, the program focuses on combining digital collaboration, peer-to-peer exchange in moderated group discussions, expert-led workshops, and informal networking. The workshop sessions will be moderated with two WYA Spain’s trainers to cover real-world cases of journalism across cultural, legal, and political contexts. The session also provides hands-on training on interactive media literacy tools and fact-checking resources for participants to utilize in education and outreach to make a difference within their own communities upon conclusion of the program. By the end of the program, participants will be empowered to not only recognize the risks of misinformation but also to actively shape media spaces that foster truth, respect, and solidarity.
