World Youth Alliance Europe – Newsletter August 2025
Date of publication: August 12, 2025.
It’s always an accomplishment to connect with youth across the continent through online learning. Over the past months, we’ve had the chance to do just that, and there is even more coming up.
The Critical Mind Academy Wraps Up with success – From July 9–12, 2025, the Critical Mind Academy hosted 25 young people aged 18–30 from Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Spain, Kosovo, Albania, and Croatia. The four-day online training focused on the urgent challenges of misinformation, disinformation, and unreliable journalism on social media platforms. Led by WYA trainers, participants sharpened their skills to think critically, identify harmful narratives, and respond with confidence to online content that can drive polarization and radicalization.
Empowering Youth Across Europe and the Balkans – Building on the success of past Certified Training Programs, WYA is proud to launch a new online edition from September 9 to October 21, 2025. This training is dedicated to promoting EU values and active citizenship among young people in Europe and the Western Balkans. Cantered on the EU’s core values, human dignity, freedom, solidarity, tolerance, and non-discrimination, the program will combine civic education with interactive learning. Participants will explore citizenship, inclusion, and solidarity while also creating opportunities for intercultural dialogue and collaboration across borders.
The events are implemented within the ˝Empowering Human Dignity of EU & WB youth˝ project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union. In cooperations with Bosnian Association for Valuable Opportunities from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Alianza Mundial de la Juventud España from Spain, Këshilli i Veprimit Rinor – Prizren from Kosovo, EPOKA University from Albania and Svjetski savez mladih Jugoistočna Europa from Croatia.
Leadership Academy 2025 is Coming This Fall – Organized in the framework of the Academy for Youth Leaders & Youth Workers project, from October 2–4, 2025, WYA Europe will host the Leadership Academy 2025. At least 25 participants will take part in three days of interactive training focused on strengthening digital and soft skills, practicing foreign languages, building teamwork and collaboration, and enhancing employability with practical tools for personal and professional growth. Beyond skills, the Academy fosters confidence, resilience, and leadership capacity, equipping young people for the challenges ahead.
Together, these initiatives showcase WYA’s commitment to equipping young leaders with the tools to thrive, connect, and contribute to positive change across Europe and beyond.
